👋 Hi, Sabir here. Welcome to this week’s issue of The Pursuit of Perfection, your weekly guide to help you better your performance and results at work.
What I am about to share with you has proved to be a real game-changer for me in the workplace. I do not doubt that it can do the same for you.
If you haven’t done so already, please do contemplate for a moment on the definition of the word, precision (above).
Anybody can achieve above average results in their job. Some may even produce very good ones. But only a few can produce those that are phenomenal — and what’s the one thing that these few have in common? their results are always precise.
Results that are void of precision = failure on your part to deliver.
With that being the case, how does one become precise in the workplace? they don’t. Precision is never in the action, it is in the result of the action.
Yet, you still need action to deliver a result. So your actions must be given the utmost importance. Precision comes from your ability to give each task within a project the same level of love and care. But please do not confuse this with the amount of time you’re giving to each task; only you can judge this based on its merit.
Loving and caring for your task(s) is paramount to any success that you may encounter at work. You must be obsessed with your project; if not, you will always fall short of its potential.
My hope is that you will consider adding precision to your armoury at work. If you do, embrace the successes that will inevitably follow.
P.S. I recently spoke about The Pursuit of Perfection (amongst other things) with my good friend, Bryan Sigue on his show — The OneTime Podcast. You can watch it by clicking here.
