When it comes to fashion, one size does not fit all.
What works for one person may not work for another, especially when it comes to impressing someone you are interested in romantically.
While fashion is a personal choice, I’ve put together some key guidelines that will help steer you in the right direction when trying to impress on a first date.
1. Fit is everything
You may remember I mentioned the importance of fit in last week's bonus edition.
I want to highlight this to you again because a well-fitted outfit will most certainly earn you brownie points from your date.
Just as you will be scoping out the sexual attractiveness of your date, they will be doing the same with you (seeing if they can picture you in bed).
The human mind works in mysterious ways, especially when sexual attractiveness is at play.
For example, a well-fitted shirt which shows off your definition will help them imagine your physique behind closed doors!
2. Choose quality over quantity
It's better to have a few well-made, high-quality pieces in your wardrobe than a closet full of cheap, poorly-made clothes.
Quality materials and construction will not only look better, but they'll also last longer. See it as a long-term investment.
3. Experiment with colour
Don't be afraid to experiment with colours (other than black & navy).
A coloured sweater or coat can add interest and personality to an otherwise neutral outfit. Top tip: Go one step further by matching this same colour with your shoes or boots.
4. Dress for the occasion
It's important to dress appropriately for the location of your date.
Wearing a t-shirt and jeans in a formal setting is a no-no, just as wearing a tuxedo to a casual barbecue would be overkill.
Location is everything; you'll stand out from the crowd with this simple but powerful approach.
5. Groom to impress
Personal grooming is paramount to fashion and dressing well. One cannot exist without the other.
Keep your hair trimmed and well-groomed. Grooming also includes clothing maintenance, so make sure to regularly clean and maintain your shoes/boots.
Before I go, the key to impressing your date with your fashion is to be confident and put effort into your appearance.
Choosing high-quality, well-fitting clothes and dressing appropriately for the occasion will go a long way in making a positive first impression!
