👋 Hi, Sabir here. Welcome to this week’s edition of Chino - simplifying Men’s fashion to help you dress well & look dapper!
How’s it going? I hope you’ve kicked the week off looking dapper! 💪
There’s a reason why I decided to call this newsletter Chino – it’s named after my ultimate favourite piece of clothing!
You guessed it…chinos 😀
So, let’s get started – here’s my case for why you must begin adding chinos to your outfits.
The great thing about chinos is that they can transform an ordinary-looking outfit into a blockbuster look.
Why? because their individual styling is a beautiful cross between trousers and jeans.
They fuse the elegant look of a trouser with the casual nature of a jean.
The result? A wonderful smart-casual piece that can rock any outfit (as long as it’s well put together).
The History of the Chino
Chinos, also known as khakis, are a type of pants made from a lightweight, durable cotton twill fabric.
They originated as a military uniform during the late 19th century, but have since become a popular choice for everyday wear.
What Makes Them Great
One of the main advantages of chinos is their versatility.
They can be dressed up with a button-down shirt and dress shoes for a semi-formal look or dressed down with a T-shirt and sneakers for a more casual style.
They come in various colours, from classic khaki, beige and grey marle, to bold shades like green and orange (the selection is endless).
What About Their Fit?
When it comes to fit, chinos should sit comfortably at the waist and have a tapered leg.
They should also have a slight ankle break, meaning the pant leg should rest just above the shoe.
If you prefer a more modern, streamlined look, I’d recommend going for the slim-fit option.
The Chino Verdict
No doubt, chinos are a great choice if you’re looking for a versatile and stylish pant option.
You can dress them up or down and as mentioned earlier, colour options are plentiful to match your individual preference and style.
If there’s one addition to your wardrobe I’d recommend, it’s definitely a few pairs of chinos.
That’s a wrap for this week. Stay dapper, and I’ll catch you next week. 💪
Ciao!
